I procrastinate...
Have a jumbled mess of an outline for #3. Prior to any actual lineart or god forbid, color. (This is easiest for me to do lineart over, when it's transparent...just blurry spacing notes!)

Celestial Circus #2
Second comic of the style I plan on keeping.
This took longer than it should have, because I struggled with the coloring a bit. I changed the background color palette three times because warm colors made everything too blendy and dull. Looks like dark cold colors work best.
#1 was RB, now meet her little brother Eban! :) He'll be on stage next.

workplace glimpses
Happy Holidays! This blog has been still since Christmas crept up and I threw aside all projects to make a dozen gifts on time. I'm still working on one more IOU before I get back to work on Celestial, but in the mean time here are some photos of my workplace :)
While I'm at it, here's my hand-stitched dolls of RB and Eban.
They're about 9''. I tried to stitch their faces in that cute, silly style I always see on chrochet amigurumi dolls X) X) I suppose I never got around to making the other characters (though I do have button eyes for them.)

CC - Begin!
I got the look I wanted in this comic at last - bold and sharp. But the experimenting is not over...I want to try and ink an outline and digitally color it next. If it can look just as good, fantastic - really I'd just like to not be 100% computer. But..:)
Here's an official "beginning" kind of comic, regardless!

mediums
While expiermenting with making the first few comics, I tried a lot of different things. In my head there was a lot of "looks good" vs "takes long"...because the "takes long" bit makes something fun into a chore to do again. Starting off, the first one had space and was very pale/pastel.
I messed with sharper cross-hatched looking things, raw looking stuff in ink (ameatur looking on the computer I think ): )Making a comic so quick and feestyle with markers like this was not something to continue...:C
The next few were all experiments to get a feel. I only really messed with RB and Eban, since they require little introduction. Thus came the next three little tests, which are of the two going back on forth on a game of interrupting each other.
The first one I happened to save un-colored too, mostly because I was tentatively making a dark background (right after that pastel thing - I was nervous!)
These few were done on my tablet again, of course.
